An Old Pulteney single malt from 2006, which was left to age in first fill American oak bourbon barrels selected by Malcolm Waring, distillery manager. The no age statement whisky was bottled in 2017 at 46% ABV, presented in the recognisable Old Pulteney bottle.
Tasting Note
Nose: Sharp green apple skin, with lemon drizzle cake, desiccated coconut, salted caramel and buttery croissant.
Palate: Somewhat oily, with a vibrant burst of citrus, with tangy grapefruit and lemon, leading into honeyed malt cereal, brioche and coconut cream balanced by maritime salinity, with a sea breeze running throughout.
Finish: Vanilla, oak spice, sweet malt and oak char.
