John Walker & Sons King George V is an extraordinary whisky created to commemorate King George V’s awarding of the first Royal Warrant to John Walker & Sons in 1934.

It is a rare blend of magnificent Scotch whiskies drawn from exceedingly rare and valuable casks, including irreplaceable whiskies from the now-defunct Port Ellen distillery. Every drop of this wonderfully rich and creamy whisky reflects its uniqueness. Rich fruit and a generous dose of spice are wonderfully balanced by creamy vanilla sweetness, which is carried on wisps of nautical Port Ellen smoke for a lengthy, indulgent finish.

A small team of skilled blenders, led by Master Blender Jim Beveridge, hand-select exquisite barrels of whiskies from distilleries that were in operation during King George V’s reign, drawing on nearly 200 years of expertise, an unparalleled library of records, and decades of experience.

Tasting Note

Nose: Sweet, smoky aromas from Port Ellen greet you. It’s followed by notes of orange, raisins, figs and cinnamon.

Palate: Abundant spice and dried fruits from Speyside and Highland whiskies are perfectly balanced with vanilla. They release layers of sweet fruits, dark chocolate, toffee and roast nuts.

Finish: Port Ellen gives a coastal smokiness that gathers momentum through the long finish.
