First matured in American oak barrels, followed by smaller quarter casks and finished in large 500 litre puncheons, this triple maturation results in a truly unique dram. With the warming notes of peat smoke, The Ardmore Triple Wood comes together in sweet caramelised sugar, toasted barley and sweet vanilla custard.
The Ardmore Distillery was founded in 1898 by Adam Teacher and is operated by Beam Suntory today. The distillery is specialized in the producing of single malt Scotch whisky. Their source of fresh water is a small spring on Knockandy Hill, which is known for its exceptionally purity.
