Aberfeldy Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 12 Year Old [1000ml]

Mellowed for 12 years in handmade oak casks, this smooth, sweet dram offers rich rewards for those who like to dig deeper. Scented with notes of incense, nutmeg, mellow heather, and a fruity smoothness of cherry, pineapple, and raspberry marmalade. A light touch of smoke and sherry. In the palate it has a medium body, rounded, and a somewhat viscous. With a fruity flavor and notes of tangerine, caramel, cocoa, and a touch of peat. Its finish is big and smooth with long notes of sour and dry orange. This is a whisky that is one step beyond the conventional, mainstream offerings and a more interesting choice than the classic malts commonly available.

Longer fermentation for honeyed richness, Aberfeldy® whiskies are produced using a long fermentation, up to 70 hours, which gives them a rich, honeyed and fruity flavor long established as the house style.

Tasting Note

Nose: Creamy. Some sherried fruit with a trailing hint of smoke. Prune, custard and espresso bean.

Palate: Sweet, malty, a gentle peat but nonetheless the mouth feel is very clean. Vanilla, peaches in cream and subtle oak.

Finish: Ginger, malt, nutty nougat and maybe a little grapefruit zest.
